He's come a long way since "You have no privacy. Get over it!" Scott McNealy calls for industry-wide security standards in an interview with ITNow, because (quote) "people want to feel safe and comfortable that a technician is not going to compromise their privacy".

So do we all agree that privacy is a good thing and that standards help us accomplish that? Good. Because if we were to implement existing standards we'd already be a good step on our way to providing secure implementations and facilitate security and privacy.

Of course Sun Microsoft has powerful partners that would play a vital role in this.
