JOB PURPOSE
To provide support to the technical facilities management for all of our UK sites, including predominantly the London and Cambridge Hosting facilities, as well as nine leased POP sites around the UK and properties leased to third parties.

Main Responsibilities
•Day to day management of the Facilities Maintenance Contractors and Specialist Support Companies. (Norland Managed Services & Kone).
•Management of security across all sites (including office facilities as relevant) – both managing the guarding of the building and the key access company for remote facilities); fire alarms; CCTV etc
•Provide technical support to customers who are located on Telstra sites.
•Ensuring that Planned and Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is carried out on all sites and that reactive maintenance is carried out to restore services or repair unserviceable plant and equipment within SLAs.
•Provide technical support to the Telstra sales team.
•Day to day Management of the utility supply contracts, power, water and gas.
•Technical support to the ECSC – 24/7.
•Remote management o f support contractors who support the network points of presence around the country
•Maintenance of the asset register and site plans.
•Ensure that facilities are managed in a safe manner and that all HSE guidelines and regulations are enforced
•Ensure the sites are managed in accordance with HSE Guidelines.
•Ensure log books are completed for all required H&S inspections.
•Ensure that all contractors working on site are inducted and issued with permits to work. Ensure that all project, maintenance and installation works are completed within the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
•Ensure all portable equipment is maintained and test yearly (PAT).
•Maintain a register of tests.
•Provide facilities support for the office environments as requested by the office manager
•Upkeep of the fabric of all facilities (including technical and office facilities)
•Ensure maintenance of M&E services in all facilities
•Liaison with office management team as a key interdependency
•Ensure the use and tracking of Telstra’s Remedy/MPLAN ticketing system is being followed correctly.

General Responsibilities

•Ability with little supervision and using own initiative.

•To have a flexible approach to work and work extended hours, in varying locations, where necessary.
•To ensure maximum operational efficiency in all our locations
•Give support to the definition and documentation of processes and procedures to aid continual development of the team.

Qualifications and Experiences

•At least 10 years experience in demanding technical facilities management roles
•A good understanding of technology associated with facilities management
•A proven ability to demonstrate successes in the past of ensuring maximum efficiencies are achieved
